5 days, 3200+ km, 3 states, one brilliant solar eclipse, and a lifetime of memories. "If we were meant to stay in one place, we'd have roots instead of feet, he said" - Rachel Wolchin
My boys and I generally do one big trip each year. This summer we had planned to go to Scotland with a stop-over in Iceland. Instead, we went to South Dakota & Nebraska. Almost the same right? (and no offense intended to those from the mid-west. I'm in Saskatchewan so we get much more teasing than you likely do! haha)
The change in destination was the result of realizing my kiddos are growing up faster than I am prepared to handle. My oldest got a summer camp counselor job and we were, therefore, unable to head out on our grand adventure. Mom's prime fix? Jump in the car for a 5-day adventure to chase the solar eclipse!
North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska. A road trip with a focus on science and history. Quite the departure of our days of needing Disney, theme parks, and constant stimulation. These times, they are a changin'!
